Replacement board...that replaced me with happiness!
Pros
Everythign you need for a board at its level with well positioned ports
Cons
i hate hate mounting the 775 fan to this board. But thats all 775s
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
overall a great board that i would recommend if replacing your board. For a fresh build it doesnt offer the newer bells and whistles. depends on what your looking for!
I had another board from ASUS before this one that lasted me quite some time. About three years and two cross country ships (ups should get some credit i suppose, but they crushed my case on the second trip) Anyway, after the solid quality of the former board i decided to stick with ASUS when it finally died out on me. And i wasnt disappointed in the slightest! I needed a board that was compatable with my e6600 core 2 duo and this stood out in price and features. It gave me everything i needed and more. Everything that you could want or expect from a LGA775 motherboard is in there. it does only run DDR2 (not a problem as that was the ram i had and didnt want to upgrade at this time), 8gb max RAM. Also is 2x SLI slots ready, though i only run the one card in it. the 4 sata ports are positioned well so that became no issue there either! It is a well designed mother board that offers good positioning on its various ports. The manual was easy to follow and left little guess work in setting it up. Also, gotta admit its kinda pretty!
