Cons
Really easy to lose
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
The SanDisk MobileMate Micro Reader is an awesome card reader and would recommend it over some lousy jump drive anyday. However it is really easy to lose.
The SanDisk MobileMate Micro Card reader is a really neat find. I bought this card reader after I bought a 6 Gb micro sD card for my cellphone. At first I thought I would only use it as a card reader, but it is just as practical using it as a massive jump drive.
In this case size has a double meaning, because with a 6 Gb micro sD card you know longer have a jump drive, you have a borderline Hard drive, or at least that's how I feel. But it is also ultra small, and I mean that. It is more than half as small as my old 1 Gb jump drive, but with six times the disk space. What is even cooler is that you could max out the memory with an 8 Gb micro sD card, but then you could buy even more and just switch them out.
When I hooked the card reader up to my computer, there wasn't any software or programs I had to install, it works just like a jump drive. The only problem that I know I will have, is keeping track of this little guy. I am almost constantly checking my pockets making sure I didn't lose it. Sometimes even when it is in my pocket I find myself fretting because I missed it during the first feel around.
I think the price is completely reasonable, I bought mine for $12. This is the price of a 1 Gb jump drive. You could probably even find one cheaper on sale.
