According to records I've found there is a hidden transportation system that leads to a second connection to the outside world. In order to activate this system and also to enable your own return you must find all nine fragments of the key to the system...  A few days ago I arrived in this part of Rhem. I will set up a studio for myself here. I have not been able to find the star key but it appears I first have to look for nine fragments. Near the railway line I found a box to collect the fragments in. Some entrances to some of the buildings could be opened but at the moment I can't make any further progress...  In a straw-roofed hut there is a fireplace where some missing parts can be joined together. I'll lock the hut again but will leave behind clues about how to open the door...  An unexpected success! By chance I discovered the key to a cave system where there is yet another gate with a star lock.
