Very powerful machine. Push it to it's limits.
Pros: Great speed, great software, great value if you use all of the software.
Cons: Takes time to get used to OS X. Full review I'm a long-time Mac user. My last Mac was a PowerMac 7500/100 which is still running after eight years. We decided on this model because it has the middle processor speed and it has the better PCI slots. We're using it for home use, so it didn't need to be a workhorse. The first thing I noticed about the machine is that it handles multi-processing much better than any previous Mac. I started four large processes back-to-back then surfed the net while it worked. It handled them like a champ and didn't slow me down on the web. The OS X software is very broad. It covers a large area of our interests. We downloaded all of our audio CDs onto the hard drive to play through iTunes. We use iMovie and iDVD with our camcorder. We use the Address Book and iCal to keep us organized and a .Mac account to keep it all together. I find this machine to be extremely hard-working and the included software is unbeatable. |
