Great laptop for my needs
Pros: Ease of use, battery power, compact size, memory size
Cons: Keyboard isn't very large, touchpad only has one button Full review My job includes a lot of writing, editing and shuttling emails back and forth and this laptop is so helpful with all of those. Since I use a Mac computer at the office, having a compatible Mac laptop for work that I take home is perfect. With a screen that's smaller than an average desktop computer, it takes some time to adjust (especially if you are used to working on a desktop frequently. However, having only owned this laptop for a couple days, I am already so comfortable using it and a desktop screen now appears to be larger than normal. The keyboard is a little small and I would prefer to have a smaller touchpad if I could get a larger keyboard, but ultimately I have already adjusted and it seems normal now. I have always been comfortable and used to using a mouse with right and left click capabilities, but the iBook G4 only has one button, so that also takes some time to get used to. I bought this laptop so I could more efficiently work away from the office, yet have everything be compatible with the Mac at work - and it is absolutely serving that purpose, then some. Mac's new operating system is incredible, so user friendly. For my basic needs of Word, Excel, the internet and my email, this iBook G4 is great. However, I know that it has capabilities that go way beyond these basic ones - and a lot of memory for saving documents, installing new programs, etc. I also recently used my laptop at home, having left the battery pack and plug-in at the office and was able to use it for 4.5 hours before I ran out of battery power. I've never come across a laptop with that kind of internal battery. Again, I echo other reviews in that I wish the keyboard was a little larger and that the touchpad had right and left click options. |
