We decided to purchase the Britax Marathon car seat after researching various other car seats. I had horrible experiences with previous car seats with my other child and was determined to find a car seat that was the safest and would also provide an easy way to get my child into and out of the car seat. One thing that I absolutely love about the Britax Marathon car seat is that the restraint straps never get tangled or twisted. This was my biggest complaint about other car seats. Sometimes the restraints on other car seats would become so tangled and twisted that the only was to straighten them out would be to completely dismantle the car seat and take the straps out. But it would never fail, only a few times of using the car seat they would be all tangled and twisted again. The Britax marathon car seat somehow found a way to eliminate this problem. The Marathon car seat is also easy to install and once it is securely in place it is tight and snug. It almost feels like it is permanently installed. That makes me feel like I have placed my child into a car seat that is going to protect him if we are in an accident. Prior car seats I have used have been difficult to install and no matter how hard I pulled to tighten down the straps holding the car seat in place it would always seem like they slipped slightly and the car seat would tip from side to side. I do wish the Marathon car seat was not so expensive. I think all car seats should be made with the same attention to detail and safety at a price all parents can afford.
