Pros: Great performance for all functions. Fairly quiet. Excellent value and price. Easy to use.
Cons: None, really none for me.
The bottom line: I'd buy it again. It's the best all-around I could find under $500

I've had my Canon Pixma MP530 for a month and love it! I was ready to give up on finding an all-in-one printer under $500 with great performance in all categories. It's awesome for photos too! Each had it's Achilles Heel(s), but the Pixma MP530 had the most positives and least possible drawbacks. I almost wrote this printer off too since most rated it with great all around results but as a non-photo-centric all-in-one, lacking media card slots and a photo preview LCD. NO problem since I would probably never use card slots or an LCD preview screen anyway. I will probably never use the pictbridge which it does have, which some people like. I like to proof and edit my shots at full size on the big screen and choose the very best and then crop many of them before printing only the best anyway.
The MP530 prints them very nicely for a non-professional printer! The text & graphics and the scan & copy quality are great too. Not bad on speed either. It's very easy to use and comes with good instructions and software. I wouldn't trade my MP530 (free of charge) for any of the other printers I looked at.
