Extremely Fast PowerHouse! Quad Core!
Pros: 64 bit Multi threading computer, Seriously FAST
Cons: Video Card. Has a 8400 GS, bottlenecks the system. Full review Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 running at 2.4GHz for each core!64 Bit processing power! Trully amazing speeds running anything you can throw at it! This processor has an 8 meg cache 2 @ 4 megs each. Comes with 3 Gigs of DDR. I personally will upgrade to 4 as soon as possible. 3 is great but I love power and this machine would be unstoppable with 4 gigs of DDR Ram. Came with a 640 gig hard drive, Sata system so you are set for future upgrades. Its a 7200 rpm drive which is quite fast for todays standards. It came with SuperMulti DVD Burner with LightScribe Technology which I still haven't totally figured out how to use the lightscribe. I just installed Nero as I am familiar with it and am sure I will be imprinting my own dvd's by the end of the week! It came with wireless keyboard and mouse and even a wireless network card! I was looking to just upgrade my older system (which is only a month old) but then walked into BestBuy and seen this. I started checking the specs and a friend worked there and allowed me to get his discount. I have an at home business where I buy and sell computers and other various computer related activities. I needed something that would allow to get some programming done while allowing me to play a game or two while I had some programs compiling info. It was also an excellent choice for me because of the 15 in 1 card reader. Allowing me to stick my card sticks in it to work on my photos. It came with a ****load of software for photowork and dvd editing. Half of that I probally never get to use. I am totally happy with this machine. I think the one thing that sold me was the tv tuner! Plugged it into my sat and am watching direct tv! The one fallback for me and its a big one, is the video card. I was a little put out that a machine that can handle everything I threw at it had a low grade video card. Its a GeForce 8400 GS which has a memory bandwidth of 5 gigs a second. Thats pretty darn slow compared to what todays game need. I played crysis but had to play it on the lowest settings. I just bought an 8800 GTX. I gotta say, that card with that computer. Oh my god! I started up and Crysis and walked to the edge of a cliff. I jumped off the cliff and felt myself pull back in the chair! I swear my legs felt the pain when I landed in the game! So thats my take. I say, if you want a machine that is totally perfect for serious business applications and serious multi threading, maybe for like running it as a web server. and have a grand to spend. You better jump on this machine! |
