Good but with some reservations
Pros: Small, easy to turn on and off, good voice quality, standard USB charger
Cons: doesn't fit well on large ears, tinny sound quality, surprisingly short standby and talk time Full review I have two bluetooth headsets; the Jabra BT500, a large around the ear model that I gave a favorable review to, and my Motorola H700. The H700 is a small unit that fits over the ear but rests on the ear. Turning it on and off is as simple as opening or closing it's microphone boom. Initially, I had problems pairing this unit with my LG Verizon phone despite carefully following the instructions in the manual. A call to Motorola's customer support resulted in my learning that the instructions in the manual were incorrect. The support person got my unit paired in seconds. So, if you buy this unit and have trouble pairing it, call Motorola's customer support and you'll be up and running in seconds. As for the unit, I have large ears, and that is a problem with this unit because it is difficult to fit this unit securely on my large ears. When I do get it fitted, I find the unit's listening sound quality to be inferior to my Jabra BT500. This unit has a "tinny" sound lacking in bass. However, those who I call say that they can hear me clearly. In terms of voice recognition with the LG phone, it does as well or as badly as my Jabra. On the negative side, this unit's standby time and talk time is considerably less than my Jabra 500's. However, it does have an indication when maximum volume level has been reached. This unit also uses a standard USB charger. Overall, it's ok but make sure it fits on your ear correctly before you purchase it. Comfort isn't an issue, (I find it very comfortable) but fit is critical if you are going to hear your party and your party is going to hear you. |
