Pros: Reasonably priced. Works as described. Good manual.
Cons: Tiny button remote. Recorded title names don't include day-of-week.
The Bottom Line: Excellent product *if* you've defined your needs accurately. I'd buy a 2nd one. Good stuff.

Pros: Digital tuner, HDD recording, DVD+R/RW and DVD-R/RW recording and high-speed dubbing, 1080p upconversion
Cons: Crippling copy-protection restrictions, lack of battery backup, no program guide or automatic naming
The Bottom Line: Good value for the money, routine operation works well, but it would be a lot more useful without those imposed copy-protection restrictions.

Pros: Hard drive provides chase play and 66 hours of programs in default record mode.
Cons: Doesn't record or pass through high def, can't manually add channels.
The Bottom Line: Hands down the best ATSC recorder I have tried and should do until stand alone high def recorders come out. Three hundred bucks well spent.

Pros: Digital tuner, DVR with no subscription, pause live TV, simultaneous record & playback, dubbing
Cons: tedious titling, no timer titles, no DL
The Bottom Line: Lots of features in this DVD/DVR device. The manual is actually decent. Great step up from just a plain DVD recorder.

Pros: Price!- Subscription free HDD/DVD recorder for around $200
Cons: Remote
The Bottom Line: Great if you don't have an HD TV and do not want to pay a monthly fee. May want an extended warranty based on some reliability problems others have had.

Pros: Will play DIVX and JPEG files besides you music and video DVDs.
Cons: No TV guide so it doesn't name the program you're recording.

Pros: Excellent recording capacity; easy to see menus on screen
Cons: Small remote buttons; manual needs to be studied; no titling recording until it's completed
The Bottom Line: Don't expect plug and play. Know your expectations prior to purchase. Be prepared to study. Have a tech savvy friend or patience with customer service if you're techphobic.
