Pros: Was nice while it worked
Cons: Dud Phone - Broke down 1 year 2 weeks after purchase
The bottom line: Don't buy it - they're a dud batch of phones
Thought this phone was a good buy but have been completely dudded. The phone comes on with a blank white screen and won't turn off, lost all my photos etc, and the manufacturer as well as 3 say because it's out of warranty (2 weeks after the one year was up) they won't fix it. Took it to a repairer, they said it had cracks in the circuit board, keypad damage, corrupt software and pcb damage. Another SE w850i, same age as ours came in for repair at the same time. Went to the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman, they said if we're still paying for it as part of a bundled contract (another year still to go!) it should be working. Gave us a "higher level" number to ring within 3, well, now they say they may be able to replace their dud phone after all! A little heavy weight seems to give a bit more say in the matter, after 5 months of wrangling with them both (3 and Sony Ericsson), as soon as we mention the ombudsman now they say they can do more. My suggestion: Don't buy this phone in the first place. If you do and it breaks down, call in the ombudsman fast instead of trying to deal with customer service or priority care - apparently they can't do anything.
