Nice drive
Pros: Small, Quiet, Easy to use.
Cons: The speed reminds me of a Ford Escort, not a Mustang. Full review I purchased two of these drives. One for work and one for personal backup. The drives are quiet and they work well. The only thing I'd complain about is the speed of the drives. They are not all that fast. But I don't blame the drive, I blame USB 2.0. Sandra benchmarks show the drive reads at an average of 26.023 MBps with an access time of 13ms and writes at a maximum of 19.2 MBps. I would prefer the hard drive manufactures give us these 2.5" external drives with an eSATA connection. This would greatly increase the speed. I don't have any info about the WD backup utility, I use a 3rd party utility called AlwaySync. |
