Pros Instant-on white LED lights. Outstanding Epson Scan software.
Cons Nothing I've found so far.
Recommended it? Yes

For years now, I've sat in my home office looking at a huge crate full of 35mm pictures and negatives, thinking "one day I'll scan that lot in".
Long story short - I got a new scanner at work - the Epson V4490 which is essentially the V500 but with a regular bulb (I'll explain later). I did a... Read full review »

Pros Lots of different settings. Slide scanning looked sharp and clear.
Cons Learning curve for Beginner. No printed manual. $250 is higher than others in its class.
Recommended it? Yes

Cons None that I have found so far.
Recommended it? Yes

I have long wanted to have a digital filing cabinet with all of my receipts, documents, and bills in electronic format rather than a huge, clunky lateral file full of heavy papers.  In addition, when I had to look for a receipt or statement I would have to thumb through piles of papers hoping... As a Psychotherapist, I have wanted a user friendly way to have my confidential files as well as filing system in the computer. The neat desk scanner seemed ideal. Overall, I love the idea of the scanner and it does scan 50 pages sorts them and has the capacity to file all receipts and info for... Read full review »
