My Over-Clocking King.

Pros Easy to overclock, runs cool, doesn't use much energy.
Cons May require a large hsf replacement, as the stock HSF is not very good.
Recommended it? Yes

This is the processor I am using day in and day out and it is by far the best piece of hardware I have ever owned. Not only does it work perfectly and stay cool, it over-clocks like no tomorrow.

I have my little E8400 running at 4.0Ghz on air-cooling which was a lot easier to set-up than I... Read full review »

Intel E8400 do's & don'ts

Pros Best value 4.0Ghz Dual Core 6MB L2 Cache processor available today.
Cons $165 less for me to spend on pizza.
Recommended it? Yes

Having built many PCs back to the days of paying $1,000 for a processor that ran at 100hz, recalling the progressions over almost 30 years has brought me to the point where justifying the purchase of another CPU has become nearly impossible due to the almost instantaneous launch and multi-task... Recommended it? No

With little media fanfare during the month of June 2011, AMD and ATI released the AMD A8 3850 APU and dealt Intel a huge blow to their reputation as a leader in PC innovation. The AMD Fusion series of processors feature an accelerated processing unit or APU that is a first for any major chip... A fairly priced APU with fair graphics abilities.

Pros Cheap
Integrated Graphics
2.9 GHz clock
Cons Not as fast as the more expensive ones
Recommended it? Yes

I was anticipating the release of Skyrim, and as a newly converted PC gamer, I decided that this was going to be the best decision for me. The A8-3850 APU combined a moderate clock speed with integrated graphics in order to power a very affordable, yet still capable processor. The A8-3850 is not as... Read full review »
